Imagine being able to use your phone to see who a person is and what social networks they belong to. This is exactly what a Swedish company is working on and soon it will be available for Android phones. The Astonishing Tribe has created an amazing augmented reality application that will change the way we connect with one another.
Recognizr will be available soon on the Android Market and to get it to work all you have to do is point your phone at someone’s face. Once it ‘recognizes’ the other person it will automatically bring up the social networks they belong to and allow you to interact with them. Both parties will need to have the application downloaded in order for it to work. Of course this type of technology is still in the early stages and it is likely that down the road something like this will be available for all mobile devices. This would then make it easier to find people to connect with but at the same time might also bring up privacy concerns.
