With TigerText you can set time limits on every text you send.  Once the time is up the message will be deleted on your phone and the recipient’s phone so your tracks are covered.  In order for this to work your recipients must also have TigerText installed on their device.  The app comes with a free trial which lets you send 100 messages on them.  After that you will need to sign up for an account and pay a monthly fee for sent messages.

Of course this type of application brings up a whole bunch of different issues.  Some may call it shady but it’s actually a good way to protect yourself.  Just think how many athletes or celebrities sent revealing text messages to their significant other only to have it backfire on them.  Clearly this app isn’t for everybody and it will be interesting to see just how long it last sin the App Store.  TigerText will also be available for the BlackBerry and the Android in the near future.

Call Control by EveryCall.us is an application that will automatically block all those unwanted calls from spamming telemarketers.  It works directly with the EveryCall.us website and checks their database to see if that number has already been reported.  If it hasn’t you can quickly add the unwanted number to the community through the app.  Once it recognizes that the number is indeed spam the app will either disconnect the call altogether or send the caller straight to voicemail.  Either way you’ll never hear a peep from your phone.

Call Control includes a 14 day free trial of the pro version which includes all the essential features.  After the trial is up you have to pay a one time fee of $7.99.  There is also a free lite version that has some limits like only one update from the community blacklist.  The fact that Call Control can interrupt a call before it even rings your phone is pretty amazing and makes it worth giving the free trial a run.
